r/dropshipping rules: what actually gets removed

Each rule below is paired with the way it is most likely enforced. Where the rules state a number, we quote it. Where they do not, we say so instead of guessing.

1. 1.No Spam

   Enforcement varies

   Selling services related to Dropshipping is allowed if done at a low volume (i.e. once per week max) and if flaired as "marketplace". Attempts to peddle "free" courses made by someone else are always considered spam and get a lifetime ban. Replying to posts with "inbox me" or "come inbox" or any other attempt at getting the OP to message you directly before having a conversation are considered spam and will get an immediate ban. Any other attempts to spam will recieve immediate liftetime bans.

2. 2.Be Descriptive

   Enforcement varies

   This sub is plagued by extremely low quality post titles and post content. If you're asking a question try your best to ask it briefly in the post title then use the text post to expand upon it. If you're asking for a review of your website / ads, then write a better post title things like "Review Please" or "New Site" are likely to be ignored by the community and removed as low-quality.

3. 3.Linking to Other Sites

   Enforced automatically

   Links are allowed to blog posts, research papers, news articles, and videos under certain circumstances (see linking circumstances below). In general as long as the link is in a post flaired appropriately, OP is not related to the website or creator channel, the content was not generated by AI, and the link is not an attempt at abusing the sub for SEO purposes it will be allowed.

4. 4.Extraordinary Claims Require Evidence

   Enforcement varies

   A common scam in Dropshipping is that somene will post screenshots showing an ever increasing revenue that quickly breaks into high earningings numbers. We require all extraordinary claims be verified. Our mod team has an internal revenue threshhold that when such a post crosses, we will remove the post and request evidence. So far, no OP has ever submitted such evidence in these cases. We may exercise this rule to protect against other similar scams in the future.

5. 5.No Astroturfing or Inauthentic Engagements

   Enforcement varies

   Apps and brands that service dropshippers tend to utilize 'creative' marketing tactics such as creating dozens of fake accounts to make false claims about their services. In these cases when such rings are uncovered we may post the evidence publicly, ban all affiliated accounts, and ban the brand/website from ever being mentioned here. Brands already banned under this rule: Spocket.

6. 6.Give and Take

   Enforcement varies

   This subreddit is for those who wish to learn and grow and help others learn and grow. We do not expect our members to give away their secret sauce to success, however, we ask that you continue to participate even once your dropshipping venture is successful helping others. Constantly posting asking for freebies from the group may also lead to a temporary ban. For example asking for a website review every week is likely to get your posts removed and your account banned.

7. 7.Read the Beginner's Guide and Search the Subreddit

Our members have donated a LOT of high-quality and valuable advice over the years that could answer your questions or help you get to another level before needing assistance. Posts that do not cite the Beginner's Guide or that can be easily answered there are subject to removal as spam.

r/dropshipping does not publish karma or account-age minimums in its rules. Subreddits often enforce unpublished filters on top of what they write down, which is why posts from new accounts can vanish without a message here.
